Philtrum: Carry moisture from the mouth to nose pad to keep the nose wet. A wet nose is able to trap odor particles greatly enhancing the function of the olfactory system.
Nictitating Membrane: The translucent third eyelid that draws across eye for protection and to moisten it to maintain visual stability
